THEATRE
Tara Graff and Max DuBowy ‘08, Musical
Theatre students, won the Marcella Halter Award for Choreographer
18 and under at the 10th Annual Dance Under the Stars
Choreography Festival in Palm Desert, California.
MUSIC
David Ordovskiy ‘08, Music (flute) , won
3rd prize in category "A" of the woodwind group
at the LISMA Foundation International Music Competition
that took place at the Long Island Conservatory in New
York.
Victor Yen ’08, Music (violin),
won first place and the special price at the 2007 International
Asian Youth Musicians Competition in Singapore
Alice Hwang ’09, Music (piano)
Honorable Mention in the California State Music Teacher’s
National Association Yahama Piano Competition. Finalist
at the 3rd Schimmel Senior USASU INternational Piano
Competition for Young Pianists. Recipient of the "Sarra
and Emmanuil Senderov Award for the most outstand performance
of composition by a Russian composer" playing Rachmaninov's
Etude Tableau Op. 39 No. 5 in e-flat minor.
Alan Woo ’09, Music (piano) 1st
Place in the Virginia State Music Teacher’s National
Association Yamaha Piano Competition

Festival of Short Films –
Breeana Essrig's ’08 LEMONADE
(co-producers: Leila Battersby &
Taylor Ghrist ’09), Taylor Ghrist's SEX
AMONG OTHER THINGS (producer: Jon Fu ’08)
and sophmore Leila Battersby's THE
BEAR ESSENTIAL (producer: Anna Li ’08) were showcased
at the Big Bear Film Festival, on Saturday, September
15.
James Baumann ’06, will also be
there, showing his IAA thesis film, THE WAITING ROOM
Yea Sul Park’s ’07 film,
PINKY (producer: Julia Horowitz ’07) was
accepted to the highly-competitive Austin Film Festival.
PINKY will screen on October 14th and 16th, in Austin,
Texas.
